BUILT ON QUALITY, KNOWN FOR SOLUTIONS.
Precast/Prestressed Concrete
Precast/prestressed concrete elements are the backbone of our bridges. If these are not manufactured correctly, and a deck is placed on top – there is simply no fix. Experienced oversight of these elements is critical to prevent costly or catastrophic failures.
STATE Testing has one of the most experienced inspection teams in the Midwest for prestressed and precast concrete product fabrication. Our highly trained PCI Level III Technicians not only have extensive inspection experience but also have diverse backgrounds in manufacturing facilities and government agencies.
We are currently the trusted resource for precast and prestressed concrete inspection for the Illinois Tollway, Chicago DOT, Illinois DOT, and multiple Chicagoland counties.

Our team takes pride in our extensive expertise ensuring materials conform to every detail of the contract specifications. Our QA and IA inspection services provide comprehensive reporting and documentation of on-site placement and mix production, allowing clients to confidently verify compliance with both the specifications and industry best practices.
Our clients have realized the value of third party, independent assurance to provide a complete overview of project quality control and quality assurance. The additional benefit of this program is that our IA technicians also help mentor and train new QC/QA personnel in our industry on best practices.

Fabricated Metal
Products
Chicago's extensive network of river crossings and rail infrastructure means we have more bridges than nearly any other city in the country. And let’s not forget the elevated transit system tracks (the “El”) that crisscross Chicagoland. The vast majority of these structures are made of fabricated metal products such as structural steel, plate girders, and metal decks. On top of that, some of these structures are over 100 years old! The need for repair and replacement in the years ahead is upon us – STATE Testing stands ready to assist agencies with these critical assessments. STATE Testing is a trusted resource for steel inspection for transportation agencies across Illinois, with current clients including the Illinois Tollway, Chicago DOT, and multiple Chicagoland counties. Our full-time staff of Certified Weld Inspectors (CWI) provides inspection services for steel and aluminum fabrication facilities across the United States, as well as jobsite inspections across the Chicagoland area. Our inspection services cover the full range of fabricating steel and aluminum products - from structural steel bridge girders to architectural light fixtures and railings. This fabrication inspection process assesses everything: from the time that the raw materials arrive, to the application of coatings and final product release. STATE Testing also maintains a Level III ASNT non-destructive testing (NDT) program. This certification is rare in the industry, and is critical when assessing fracture-critical designs.
Asphalt Plant Inspections
We offer comprehensive plant inspections and evaluations including oversight of calibrations and mix-production troubleshooting. We also provide asphalt laboratory equipment and technician evaluations for conformance to the AASHTO R-18 standard.
